Chocolate anyone?
I love chocolate and I am even adjusting my habit to include dark chocolate. I thought to be a bit more healthy and watch my sugar intake I would only eat really good expensive chocolate. But I found that they did not taste as good - well, except Godiva. If I had a choice between gas in the car and Godiva I would have to think for a bit. On my way to the Mooses Tooth for a yummy salad I noticed a new place. Their sign says Modern Dwellers Chocolate Lounge. In Dana language it can be translated into "Dana, come on in" I will definately have to investigate.

1st grade
Seth heads to 1st grade this year and is very excited about learning to read books. We did other important things this summer like learning to snap our fingers and tie shoes (which is good because the girls he charmed to do it for him in kindergarten are not in his class).

Home
For those of you who have never been to Anchorage, here is one of the most popular photos of downtown. The gallery I work at is behind the building on the far left. I get a great view when I have to go get change at Simon & Seaforts restaurant. Anchorage is getting bigger - we are finally getting a Target and maybe a Kohls. The big thing this summer was the Dairy Queen Grill & Chill. I have heard rumors of a PF Changs and maybe an Olive Garden or Macaroni Grill - all 3 would do incredible business. I have lived here since 1974, with an absence only for college and a brief move to Gilbert, Arizona so I have seen Anchorage grow. I remember when Dimond Blvd. was the edge of town.

funny quote
Live your life to the fullest, because someday something could happen and your life might flash before your eyes and you don't want what you see to bore you to death.

Its too early
There is a hint of changing colors on the Birch trees. One day they are a lush green then yellow the next and once the winds pick up they are on the ground. I think I will start making a photo time line to post. Just registered Seth for 1st grade, they start on the 22nd and he asks everyday if today is the first day. Nice to see he has excitement for school. Better start relearning how to tie his shoes again - not sure if Brianna will be in his class. She tied them for him in Kindergarten.

Let them eat cake
I married a man who likes to be in the kitchen. These are his latest work - a Lemon Meringue pie and a chocolate swirl cheesecake (my birthday request). I think he preferred the pie because he got to use a torch. Neither one of these are on the Bob Greene Best Life accepted food list - but I had the best time eating them.

Mexico, 2006
On the last trip to Mexico, Glen caught this sailfish and oh, darn it could not fit in the luggage to bring back. Instead we brought home a bambino. We call her Sydney aka Paca.

Funny man
Heard a good Jeff Foxworthy the other day: Do you know why its hard to solve crime in the south? Because all the DNA matches and there are no dental records. haha.
Past favorites: If you are caught staring at an orange juice container because it says CONCENTRATE on it - you might be a redneck.
If you have to look at your belt buckle to remember your name, you might be....
If you walk your son to school because you are in the same grade, you might be...
